Professor Václav Pavlíček from the Faculty of Law, Charles University, receives the Medal of Merit

On the National Day, October 28, 2015, President of the Czech Republic awarded the outstanding civil merits for building the free democratic society, excellent work results, credit for defending the country, and heroic or extraordinary deeds of several outstanding citizens, who received the state awards of the Czech Republic. Professor Václav Pavlíček gained the Medal of Merit for his achievements in research.


Last year, Professor Pavlíček received the Gold Memorial Medal of Charles University for the development of jurisprudence and legal education.

Professor JUDr. Václav Pavlíček, CSc., dr. h. c., is tightly connected with Charles University. Having graduated from the Faculty of Law, he became its Vice-Dean after 1989. To this day, he has been a member of the Research Board of the faculty, and still teaches several courses. In addition, he’s been in charge of the Foundation of Josef, Marie and Zdeňka Hlávka, the oldest Czech foundation, for fifteen years. Last year, Professor Pavlíček received the Gold Memorial Medal of Charles University for the development of jurisprudence and legal education.
