It is strongly recommended that applicants for studies and accepted students at Charles University should obtain health insurance coverage in their own countries for the period of their studies in the Czech Republic before their arrival in the Czech Republic. If they do not have their own health insurance, then they are obliged by law to pay General Health Insurance for Foreigners in the Czech Republic, currently 1,150 CZK/month for men and 1,350 CZK/month for women, i.e. cca 40 50 USD/month.
