 CU Point

Newsletter

 for International Students

Dear students,

Welcome to the June edition of our newsletter! As the exam period draws to a close, we wish you strength, calm, and every success in finishing your assessments. We hope everything goes smoothly and leaves you with a well-deserved sense of accomplishment.

Studying can be challenging. And it's okay if we can't always handle everything on our own.

Exams, deadlines, performance pressure, as well as everyday uncertainties or personal struggles – all of these can affect our mental well-being.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, you're not alone. The Psychological First Aid Line is here for anyone who needs support in a crisis moment. Free of charge, anonymous, and respectful. You can find more crisis support contacts, including chat options, other helplines, or in-person visits CU Point website.

If you're studying or working at Charles University, you can also reach out to our psychological counseling center. We often support students dealing with issues such as stress and exhaustion from studying, procrastination and loss of motivation, anxiety, depression, emotional tension, romantic relationships, family, friendships, feelings of loneliness or loss of direction or purpose.

Talking about what's troubling you is not a sign of weakness. It's the first step toward feeling better.

Enjoy your holidays to the fullest and recharge your batteries! We look forward to welcoming you back in the upcoming academic year!

Wishing you a beautiful summer,

The CU Point Team

Student Activities

Charlie Association primarily serves queer students, staff, and alumni of Charles University and their friends. However, it is also open to students from other universities as well as non-students. It provides a safe space for LGBT people in Prague and offers them opportunities to connect with the community through various events.

Every Tuesday at 7 PM, Charlie hosts regular meetups at different queer-friendly venues. Once a month, Tuesday evenings are dedicated to board games, but the program sometimes takes other forms — such as ice skating, swimming, or a bigger party. With the arrival of summer, Tuesday meetups often turn into picnics in the park, starting already at 6 PM. The program also includes weekend trips around Prague and nearby areas — and don’t worry, there’s never a need to wake up too early.

Selected Thursdays are reserved for events like Pub Queez or Meet-Up, an English-speaking gathering mainly aimed at international students.

Last but not least, the association will take part in the Prague Pride festival, which will take place from July 28 to August 3. Charlie will host several of its own events and kick things off early with a pre-Pride party.

Details will be announced soon on our website, Facebook, and Instagram.
