Project Results

The financial resources from the Grant agency of the Charles University were used for archival exploration in Berlin, Wroc³aw and Opava, for buying scholarly literature for the Liberary of T.G. Masaryka in Jinonice and duplication of archival documents and scientific literature.
In Wroc³aw Mr. Lehr studied the archival remains of German archivist Hermann Gollub. The study research in Berlin served for studying relevant archival materials concerning the topic of the thesis in the Political Archive of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secret State Archive. In Opava the Ph.D. student worked with documents from the archival remains of Rudolf Fitz, Walther Latzke and the filing department of the archive in Opava in the years 1939-1945.
In May 2006 Mr. Lehr presented his thesis in the colloquium of Prof. Brandes in Düsseldorf. In December there followed a presentation of the research topic in colloquium of Prof. Mühle in Münster and Prof. Hildermeier in Göttingen. The consultations with these experts and discussion of research results and methodical problems in the colloquiums were very helpful for the researcher.
In connection with the research project Mr. Lehr presented a paper at the 75th conference of German archivists in Stuttgart, which was consequently published in the anthology “Das deutsche Archivwesen und der Nationalsozialismus, Essen 2007”. In another collection of articles („Die  Deutschen und das östliche Europa. Aspekte einer vielfältigen Beziehungsgeschichte. Festschrift für Detlef Brandes zum 65. Geburtstag. Essen 2006”) was published a study about the activities of German archivists in World War I in Poland.
