Another year of popularizing science is under full swing. All participants of Science Slam are offered to take part in a workshop given by Mgr. Roman Musil whose mission is to teach students good rhetorical skills.
As the students are asked to give a 6-minute talk to a non-expert audience and present their scientific project or research, it is essential that their talk and message should be clear and easy to understand. This is why we have prepared a one-day seminar of rhetoric in which the participants try a range of rhetorical techniques in practice. The instructor will help them design a structure of their talk and show them how to avoid basic rhetorical mistakes.
So that these techniques really help, it is necessary to be active and try them out. The seminar is not about theory, but about real usage.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday October 10 2018 in the Student Club at Celetná Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (lunch break 1 – 2 p.m.). Take your ideas for a topic with you.
About Mgr. Roman Musil
He graduated from the Faculty of Arts Charles University, majoring in Pedagogy and specializing on Pedagogy of personal growth.
Since 2000 he has been teaching at the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University the following courses: Drama education, Social communication.
Since 2012 he has been teaching at the Pedagogical Faculty of Palackého University in Olomouc the following courses: Social communication, Methods of communication and another course Communication and Social Skills Training is under way.
Since 1994 he has been giving courses for teachers of nursery, primary and secondary schools, eco-centers instructors, focusing on teaching social communication (rhetoric, non-verbal communication and social perceptions), pedagogical communication for teachers, games in teaching and learning, drama education, dramatization techniques and techniques of proper pronunciation when reading aloud.
Since 2008 he has become a quality guarantor of Pedagogical Poema – a national festival and contest of recitation, loud reading and improvised story telling of students of secondary pedagogical schools in the Czech republic.
He has been directing and staging many school drama performances, making student films and student photo-comics books.
Since 2017 he has been preparing students of Charles University for a Science Slam contest.
