The university academic year is generally organized across two semesters (winter and summer semesters).

Each semester consists of teaching period, examination period and vacation.

The exact number of teaching weeks and the length of the examination period are determined by the dean of the respective faculty.

Winter semester:

5th Tuesday in September to 3th Friday in February

Examination period: 3rd Monday in January to 3rd Friday in February

Summer semester:

4th Monday in February to 4th Tuesday in September

Examination period: 5th Monday in May to 1st Friday in July

• Winter semester: October 1, 2011 - February 20, 2012

• Christmas vacation: December 23, 2011- January 2, 2012

• Summer semester: February 20, 2012 - September 30, 2012

• Summer vacation: July 2, 2012 - September 2, 2012

Examination and Assessment Period (recommended to faculties)

• Winter semester: January 16, 2012 - February 19, 2012

• Summer semester: May 28, 2012 – July 1, 2012

• Between September 3 and September 30, 2012 it is possible to take exams for the given academic year.

Rector's Sports Day will take place on May 16, 2012.
