Rádi bychom Vás informovali o tom, že se ve dnech 13. – 17. 7. 2012 v Teheránu uskuteční 13. ročník matematické olympiády a 5. ročník chemické olympiády pro vysokoškolské studenty.
Zúčastnit se mohou studenti třetích a čtvrtých ročníků matematických a chemických oborů včetně studentů ze zahraničí. Studenti ze zahraničí se mohou olympiády zúčastnit v rámci národních týmů skládajících se z maximálně pěti studentů a jednoho (případně dvou) je doprovázejícího pedagoga, přičemž z každé země může na příslušnou olympiádu přijet vždy jeden tým.

Rádi bychom Vás upozornili na vyhlášení celosvětové studentské týmové soutěže spočívající v sestavování podnikatelských plánů, kterou pořádá Technická univerzita v Hongkongu. We are looking for trainees from 18 to 30 years old, preferably people who are studying or have a degree in Education Science. Diskuze bude spojena s promitanim dokumentu "I AM IN THE SQUARE" od egyptske autorky Olfat Osman o revoluci a pokracujicich protestech v Egypte.
Rok po padu Hosniho Mubaraka se v ulicich Kahiry opet bojuje. Na rozdil od Tuniska bylo v Egypte dosazeno pouze castecne zmeny rezimu. Byl sice zvolen novy parlament, ale puvodni mocenske vztahy pretrvavaji. Od rijna 2011 se protestuje proti vlade vojenske Vysoke rady.
Na diskuzi vystoupi ucastnici transformacniho projektu v egyptske Delte Nilu, ktery AMO s podporou MZV CR realizovala na podzim 2011.
The discussion about the revolution and ongoing protests in Egypt will be accompanied with a projection of documentary called "I AM IN THE SQUARE" by a Egyptian Olfat Osman.
One year after Hosni Mubarak´s regime fall, the conflicts in the streets of Cairo continue. Only a partial change of regime has been reached. Although a new parliament was elected, the old power relations have remained. People have protested against the Supreme Military Council since October 2001.
The speakers on this debate are participants of a transformation project which AMO organized in Egypt with the support of Czech MFA at the end of 2011.

KOREJSKÁ REPUBLIKA - stipendium na základě mezinárodní dohody - notifikace nabídky pro akademický rok 2012/2013
Velvyslanectví Korejské republiky v ČR oznámilo nabídku dvou stipendií ke studiu v magisterském nebo doktorském studijním programu, která poskytuje organizace NIIED pověřená realizací stipendijního programu vlády Korejské republiky.
Uchazeči, kteří splňují podmínky uvedené v aktuálním informačním materiálu NIIED – (viz příloha: 2012 KGSP Graduate Program Guideline.pdf, 2012 KGSP Graduate Program Guideline.doc), musí doručit veškerou požadovanou dokumentaci (viz bod 11. Required Documentation informačního materiálu) a Návrh na vyslání / Žádost o přiznání stipendia potvrzený veřejnou vysokou školou v ČR do sídla Akademické informační agentury, Na Poříčí 4, Praha 1 (adresa pro poštovní styk: Dům zahraničních služeb, Akademická informační agentura, Na Poříčí 1035/4, 110 00 Praha 1 s označením obálky "Korejská republika") nejpozději do pátku 16. března 2012 do 12.00. Veškeré formuláře korejské strany jsou součástí výše uvedeného informačního materiálu; korejská strana požaduje jejich vyplnění strojopisem.
Výběr ze zájemců provede následně Velvyslanectví Korejské republiky v ČR posouzením předložené dokumentace, případně i formou pohovorů. Výstupem výběrového řízení v ČR je nominace, tj. doporučení uchazeče/uchazečky na udělení stipendia. Přiznání stipendia bude potvrzeno následně po druhém kole výběrového řízení, které provádí organizace NIIED. Předpokládá se, že výsledky budou známy v červenci 2012.

Every year UNU-IAS offers PhD and Postdoctoral fellowships to provide young scholars and policymakers, especially from the developing world, with a multi-disciplinary context within which to pursue advanced research and training that is of professional interest to the successful applicant and of direct relevance to the research agenda of their selected UNU-IAS or UNU-ISP programme.
About 8-10 fellowships will be awarded in total in 2012 for three types of fellowships: PhD Fellowships, Postdoctoral Fellowships and JSPS-UNU Postdoctoral Fellowships.

Indické ministerstvo zahraničních věcí vypsalo soutěž pod názvem Global Video Contest, jejíž účastníci mají natočit krátká videa vypovídající o tom, jaký mají vztah k Indii a představu o Indii. Do této soutěže je možné zasílat videa z následujících tří tematických okruhů:
i. India is ……. Colourful („Indie je ……. pestrobarevná“)
ii. India is ……. Creative („Indie je ……. kreativní“)
iii. India is ……. Wherever You Are („Indie je ……. kdekoli jste“)
Pro soutěž platí následující pravidla:
? Účast v soutěži je zdarma.
? Účastník si musí vybrat alespoň jedno z následujících témat.

AIA: JAPONSKO - nové bakalářské studijní programy "PEAK" na Tokijské univerzitě
Tokijská univerzita zavádí od října 2012 dva nové bakalářské studijní programy v angličtině s možností získání stipendia – „Japan in East Asia“ a „Environmental Sciences“, a to pod souhrnným označením PEAK (Programs in English at Komaba). Oba programy jsou čtyřleté, přičemž první dva roky budou mít všeobecně vzdělávací charakter („liberal arts curriculum“) a další dva roky již budou věnovány příslušné specializaci. Není nutná žádná předchozí znalost japonštiny, kursy japonštiny jsou ale nedílnou součástí studia a všichni studenti budou mít v průběhu pobytu mnoho příležitostí naučit se japonsky.
Zápisné činí v současné době 282 000 jenů, školné činí 535 800 jenů ročně. Tyto částky se mohou v průběhu času měnit. Předpokládá se, že některý typ stipendia budou pobírat asi dvě třetiny studentů přijatých do těchto studijních programů.
Uzávěrka přijímání přihlášek ke studiu od akademického roku 2012/2013 je 6. ledna 2012.

The second IIAS Summer Programme in Asian Studies will partner with the Leiden Global Interactions Research Group (LGIG) at Leiden University to critically explore Asian migrations as a globalizing force. The flows of people, goods, capital and ideas within and from the Asian continents have been transforming the global landscape for centuries. Arguably, this influence has become more recognizable and acute in the present day.
The study of Asian mobilities can provide important insights into the conditions, processes and effects of globalization and historical global forms. In order to gain a nuanced understanding of Asia's role in the transformation of the global, the workshop and conference will focus on exploring the social, historical, political and economic conditions that give rise to particular forms of Asian migration and the diverse impacts they have in various local and global arenas. This master class seeks to cultivate Asian perspectives on historical and contemporary forms of migration and their impact on shaping global-local landscapes, practices, relationships and structures.
The programme invites applications from PhD candidates and advanced research master's students whose work deals with some aspect of Asian migration. Students from Asia and non-European/Atlantic institutions are especially encouraged to apply.
These scholars will combine their expertise to provide participants with an intensive and interactive experience. The master class will focus on student works. Students will, therefore, be expected to provide a working research paper and will have the opportunity to present their work and get productive critical feedback from the conveners and their student peers.
The programme will close with a two-day conference on the same theme of Asian Migrations, featuring international scholars. Summer Programme participants will be given opportunities to meet and interact with the conference panelists and a select number of students may be invited to present their research in one of the conference sessions. All students will be invited to attend the conference and participate in the discussions.

1. Pracovníci univerzit a akademických pracovišť v ČR mohou ve svých kurzech a seminářích využít pobytu přednášejících a badatelů z USA, kteří každoročně v ČR jeden či dva semestry přednášejí či se věnují výzkumu v rámci Fulbrightova programu a jejichž aktualizovaný seznam pro rok 2011/12 bude během léta 2011 umístěn na stránku Fulbrightovy komise:

For the upcoming EAPRIL conference we invite researchers and practitioners who can inspire colleagues, are active in the context of workplace learning and/or would like to share their ideas and experiences with regard to practice-based research.

"Balancing workplace learning and practitioner research
across professional fields"
Learning and training in the workplace is one of the most important ways of preparing young people for a vocational career, but is also vital for continuous professional development. Although workplace learning has proven to be a classical way of learning, it does not always automatically result in effective learning results. From that perspective we can conclude that practitioner research on effective workplace learning is in its infancy.
Workplace learning is of special interest in dual education as dual education gets its shape and stature by learning in and through working activities. An illustrative example are the teachers and students in so-called professional development schools (PDS). Professional development schools provide an important and rich learning environment within teacher training. Training activities and responsibilities are increasingly transferred from the teacher training college to the PDS. This transfer includes developing research competencies: becoming a teacher-researcher by being a teacher-researcher in the context of a PDS.
We increasingly recognize that practitioners are not only object of study but also co-researchers, studying quality improvement of their own work, working situation or work place learning. As a consequence more attention should be paid to the question how practitioners and researchers can collaborate in doing practice-based learning in order to optimize learning within professional contexts. Examples of questions that can be addressed at the conference are:
• How can practice based research contribute to the quality of (workplace) learning?
• How can practice based research be organized within the context of workplace learning?
• Which roles can be defined in practice based research and what is the role of the practitioner?
• How to shape the dialogue between practitioners and researchers from a relevant practical question to a research question and research design?
• What are effective approaches to assure ownership of the research in the professional field?
• What are critical and success factors in practice based research?

Ein Stipendium für eine Teilnahme am Mummert-Förderprogramm wird in der Regel für zweieinhalb akademische Jahre vergeben. Es beginnt jeweils am 1. Oktober eines Jahres und endet am 31. März des darauffolgenden 4. Kalenderjahres.
Gewährt wird das Stipendium in der Regel für jeweils ein akademisches Jahr. Die Studienleistungen, die Qualität der Semesterberichte, die Effektivität der Mitwirkung an der Weiterentwicklung des Förderprogramms, die Eindrücke der Gastuniversitäten und des Stiftungsvorstandes sowie die Einhaltung der weiteren mit der Vergabe eines Stipendiums verbundenen Verpflichtungen und Erwartungen der Stiftung entscheiden semesterweise über die weitere Gewährung des Stipendiums bis zum Abschluss.
Die finanziellen Stipendienleistungen umfassen:
ein monatliches Stipendium von 800,00 Euro im ersten und von 825,00 Euro ab dem zweiten Studienjahr, das jeweils einen angemessenen Lebensunterhalt einschließlich einer kulturellen Komponente ermöglicht;

eLearning Africa 2011 Conference Highlights
eLearning Africa, the Continent’s premier annual conference on ICT-enhanced learning and which this year is hosted by Tanzania, will once again be showcasing a wealth of proposals that promise to stimulate thought and discussion.
Individual topics range from eBook clubs in Uganda and multimedia storytelling in Tanzania to eBusiness among women in Nigeria and school governance in Francophone Africa.
In line with the main theme – Youth, Skills & Employability - many proposals focus on the affordability, sustainability and pedagogical integration of ICTs in ways which can improve the learning, living and employment opportunities of young Africans.
Mobile learning in health, education and agriculture and Open Educational Resources (OER) feature very highly on our agenda. Given the popularity of OERs as an issue, the eLearning Africa Debate will provide a platform for argument about the controversies at the heart of the OER enterprise.
With its new and dedicated research stream, eLearning Africa aspires to nurture African research and knowledge in the field of ICTs in education.
Internship for students at European Roma Rights Center-ERRC in Budapest
The European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) is an international public interest law organisation working to combat anti-Romani racism and human rights abuse of Roma through strategic litigation, research and policy development, advocacy and human rights education. Since its establishment in 1996, the ERRC has endeavoured to provide Roma with the tools necessary to combat discrimination and achieve equal access to justice, education, housing, health are and public services.
The ERRC has consultative status with the Council of Europe, as well as with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. The ERRC has been the recipient of numerous awards for its efforts to advance human rights respect of Roma: in 2010, the Silver Rose Award of SOLIDAR; in 2009, the Justice Prize of the Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation; in 2007, the Max van der Stoel award given by the High Commissioner on National Minorities and the Dutch Foreign Ministry; and in 2001, the Geuzenpenning award (the Geuzen medal of honour) by Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of Netherlands.

Internships
The ERRC offers a limited number of internship opportunities each year to both Romani and non-Romani individuals. In line with its objective of empowering Romani activists, the ERRC supports internships for a limited number of Roma each year. All other internships are unpaid unless the intern is able to secure outside funding (the ERRC can provide relevant letters of support). Students may be able to arrange academic credit for their internship and should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements.
The ERRC offers internships in our legal and programmes departments. ERRC interns are generally involved in a range of administrative and substantive activities. Depending on the organisation’s needs and the intern’s interests and abilities, ERRC interns may help ERRC staff file materials and provide other administrative support, arrange events and research missions, monitor human rights developments through desk and/or field research, edit reports, translate texts, draft reports on human rights abuse or legal documents, conduct legal research and assist in preparing cases for litigation, engage in advocacy efforts and support human rights training of activists.
Romani interns may also be supported to conduct community-based initiatives back in their communities as an extension of their internship with ERRC. Interns must present their concept for such at the time of application and work with ERRC staff to develop the initiative during their internships.
All internship applicants should be a minimum of 20 years of age, be self-motivated, well-organised and reliable, with a strong interest in human rights. Experience living or working in Romani communities is preferable and knowledge of Roma rights issues is a benefit and relevant coursework is desirable. Knowledge of regional languages is a strong plus. Computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, Internet applications) are required.
